- Handle monthly, annual tax, and transactional tax compliance.
- Have an excellent understanding of tax laws and regulations, including investment law, double tax treaties, and transfer pricing regulations.
- Provide tax advice on market entry, and various transactions and projects, including merger and acquisition.
- Be able to handle tax protests, including drafting protest letter in Khmer
- Pro-actively liaise with tax official on a timely manner.
- Take instructions from the management and supervise junior team members in projects.
- Ability to handle assignments from beginning till completion, both as a team and independently.
- Draft and deliver proposals/quotations, document accurate time records, review and revise invoices and assist in the collection of outstanding invoices.
- Communicating with clients, business partners and business associations on assigned matters.
- Participate in the firm’s business development activities including cooperating with the team in preparing and delivering publications articles and presentations on various tax issues.
- Participate with our team in knowledge management and build tools and materials for the tax team to use with the support from our junior members.
- Perform administrative matters including managing certain aspects of office operation and undertake other tasks which may be assigned by the management.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the management from time to time.
- Completed at least a bachelor’s degree in law, accounting, economics, or relevant field from a reputable university with a particular focus on tax law.
- At least 2-3 years of work experience at a reputable commercial law or accounting firms in Cambodia with experience in tax matters.
- Experience in liaison with the tax department and relevant authorities is a must.
- Excellent communication skills - English and Khmer (possessing Chinese language ability is an asset).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and strong commitment to client service.
- Ability to work under pressure, complete work on time and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, time management and communication skills.
- Possess team spirit and a can-do attitude.
- Willingness to learn new areas of practice.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, communication, and research skills.
