Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management and performance of transport and warehousing operations across the country. The Operations Manager must maintain a safe working environment, manage and mitigate site risks and ensure overall site compliance in line with company, customer and regulatory standards. The Operations Manager must also improve operations activity to reach customer’s requirement and must be the key contact with its customers. The Operations Manager must also manage the team to ensure that the operations will be run in smoothly
Safety
- To ensure Safety standards and Polices are adhered to at all times.
- To ensure that Fatigue is managed in line with company Standards
- To ensure driving/rest hour breaks are adhered to at all times.
- To ensure all hazards and risks are identified, evaluated and controlled in accordance with Safety Policy and Procedures and any customer requirements
- To ensure completion of incident reports, communication of investigation findings in line with customer requirements
Customer
- Key point of contact for customers for all operations.
- Address any customer requests or complaints and respond in a timely and professional manner.
- Understand commercials of customer operations and look for ways to increase value or efficiencies on behalf of the company and the customer.
- Communicate regularly with customer and stay informed on their business on behalf of company.
- Lead weekly customer meetings.
- Weekly and monthly customer reporting.
Operations
- Manage all transport operations in line with company standards.
- Manage subcontractors and Railway operations.
- Manage all sites related to the operation including contractor sites where required.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, customers brokers, etc.
- Manage operating procedures so that all goods are delivered accurately, on time, in full and in perfect condition against customer expectation.
- Create operating plans so that customer orders are processed and delivered, on time, in full and at least cost
- Monitor incoming shipments including cross border and international shipments to ensure they are collected on time and demurrage is minimized.
- Ensure the most efficient and cost effective operations.
- Manage GPS system
- Oversee fleet maintenance, availability, and performance.
- Drive value in operations including looking for cost savings.
- Exceed KPIs around Safety, Service, Operational and Cost.
- MUST ensure loads are dispatched in line with plan.
- MUST ensure 100% of loads are dispatched on-time.
- MUST ensure 100% compliance for inventory accuracy.
- Run daily Operational meetings with team.
- Ensure all reports and accurate and presented on-time.
People
- To ensure the most efficient and cost effective operations.
- To ensure the team has a view-point action plan that is reviewed and effectiveness is measured at a progress check.
- To coach the team, one to one, to improve Distribution standards and operations. conduct toolbox talks
- To ensure drivers/s are rostered to start once the vehicles is available for work (zero downtime).
- To work with HR team to recruit and assess staff as needed for the operation.
- Develop resource plans for peak seasonal periods to achieve availability.
- Ensure all drivers have completed inductions
- Ensure all drivers have completed required training
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Transport Management, or any related fields.
- Extensive 3 years of experience managing transportation within the dangerous goods industry and 5 years in logistic industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of transportation operating methods and equipment requirements.
- Knowledge of overall supply chain with focus on store operations and transport industry.
- Customer service experience and skills.
- Extensive background comprising of on the job training, work experience, administrative systems and specific skills development within a retail environment.
- Have knowledge in budgeting and finance fields.
- Staff management experience including negotiation and communication skills.
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
- Able to travel between sites.
- Based in Phnom Penh with monthly travel to Mondulkiri required.
