To serve as the primary health officer for the kindergarten while providing instructional support in the classroom.
School Nurse & Health Coordinator (Primary)
- Health Screening: Conduct daily morning health checks (fever, rashes, hand-foot-mouth disease) as children arrive.
- First Aid & Emergency: Act as the first responder for all on-site injuries or illnesses; manage the school’s mandatory nursing room and first aid kits.
- Medical Records: Maintain confidential student health files, including vaccination logs and allergy management plans, in coordination with parents.
- Hygiene Oversight: Monitor school-wide sanitation, kitchen hygiene, and handwashing protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Teaching Assistant (Classroom Support)
- Curriculum Implementation: Support the Lead Teacher in executing play-based learning activities aligned with the Kindergartens curriculum.
- Supervision: Provide active supervision during high-risk periods, such as outdoor play, mealtimes, and nap times.
- Inclusion Support: Assist children with additional health or developmental needs to ensure they can participate fully in the classroom program.
- Classroom Logistics: Help prepare learning materials, rotate "invitations to play," and ensure the learning environment is safe and tidy.
Parent Communication
- Medical Liaison: Communicate clearly with parents regarding any health incidents or medication administration.
- Health Alerts: Ensure that all staff are aware of children with specific health needs
- Developmental Updates: Assist the Lead Teacher in providing daily feedback to parents on their child’s physical wellbeing and social participation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
- Nursing License: Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a valid registration from the Cambodian Council of Nurses (CCN), or eligible to register if trained outside of Cambodia.
- Education: High School Diploma (Grade 12) minimum; must meet the "personal characteristics" for educators prescribed by the MoEYS.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting (paediatrics preferred) or an early childhood centre.
- Language: Proficient in English (speaking\ listening\writing) to communicate with parents and international staff.
- Attributes: Extremely observant, calm under pressure, and deeply nurturing toward young children.
Desirable
- First Aid: Current, advanced Paediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
- Language: Proficient in Khmer (speaking\ listening) to communicate with children and parents
