The QC Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities within the organization, ensuring that products meet required quality standards, customer expectations, and regulatory compliance. This role leads the QC team, implements quality systems, and drives continuous improvement.
Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures
- Ensure products meet internal standards and customer specifications
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality output
- Establish inspection criteria and quality benchmarks
Team Leadership
- Manage and supervise QC inspectors and technicians
- Provide training and development for QC team members
- Set performance goals and conduct evaluations
- Build a strong local QC team (especially important in overseas factories)
Inspection & Testing
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections
- Ensure proper use of testing equipment and calibration
- Approve or reject raw materials and finished products
Customer & Audit Compliance
- Handle customer complaints and quality issues
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Prepare for and manage external audits (e.g. ISO, customer audits)
- Maintain documentation for compliance
Continuous Improvement
- Drive quality improvement initiatives
- Analyze quality data (defect rates, yield, etc.)
- Reduce waste, rework, and customer returns
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, PMC,IE, and Supply Chain teams
- Support new product development and process improvements
- Communicate quality issues to senior management
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
Experience
- 5–10+ years of quality control/assurance experience
- At least 3 years in a managerial role
- Experience in manufacturing (garment, electronics, plastic, etc. depending on your factory)
Skills
- Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 etc.)
- Familiar with QC tools (7 QC tools, SPC, FMEA, 8D, etc.)
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills (English preferred for foreign factories)
