Responsibilities and Duties
Port Operations – Vessel Controller
- Monitor vessel Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)/ Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) and coordinate with shipping agents, pilots, and port services;
- Prepare daily berth plans and allocate berths according to vessel size, draft, cargo type, and terminal capacity;
- Update the berthing schedule in real-time and adjust for delays or operational changes;
- Maintain constant communication with ship captains, agents, terminal operators, pilots, tugboats, and port security;
- Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, berth occupancy, and marine services usage;
- Monitor safe mooring/unmooring procedures and respond to any marine-related emergencies;
- Optimize berth usage to minimize vessel waiting time and turnaround time;
- Coordinate with terminal operations teams to ensure readiness for vessel cargo operations;
- Other tasks assigned by management
Port Operations – Yard Controller
- Monitor cargo movements in real time using the Terminal Operating System;
- Allocate yard slots for incoming and outgoing containers based on vessel schedules, container type, and storage strategy;
- Support yard planning activities by updating allocation plans;
- Assist in pre-planning for vessel operations, gate movements, and yard capacity balancing;
- Input and update cargo movement records, yard positions, and special handling instructions (reefer, dangerous goods, etc.);
- Monitor discrepancies between physical yard and system records;
- Ensure all yard activities are conducted safely and in compliance with company procedures and safety regulations;
- Other tasks assigned by management
Port Operations – Dispatcher
- Fully responsible for shift safety and production;
- Understand the vessel and yard day/night operation plans, key vessels, and shift handovers to ensure production continuity and plan fulfillment;
- Conduct on-site inspections, solves production and operational problems;
- Oversee mechanical and manpower deployment during shifts, accelerates ship loading/unloading and vehicle turnover;
- Provide comprehensive management of shift personnel;
- Other tasks assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills
Port Operations – Vessel Controller
- Strong in Chinese language
- English is an optional conversation
- Minimum 2 years in in port operations, terminal handling, or vessel coordination
- Experience with port terminal or shipping line operations is a strong advantage
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel
Port Operations – Yard Controller
- Strong in Chinese language
- English is an optional conversation
- Minimum 2 years in port operations, terminal handling, or yard coordination
- Experience with port terminal or shipping line operations is a strong advantage
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel
