Job Summary

The Head of Business Development oversees all activities of the commercial Planning & Insights and Product Development department and directly supports the Chief Executive Officer and the business in advancing overall company goals and objectives. S/he partners with various departments in maximizing services and products' performance, improving decision-making, and ultimately driving cross-functional integration effectiveness and efficiency through sound implementation of operational and strategic management frameworks

Working Hours: Mon-Fri (08:00-12:00 & 13:00-17:00) Sat (08:00-12:00)

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Leads the integration of Product, Sales, Service, Marketing, and Operations strategies into program and activity plans, hence enabling effective market executions to deliver desired performances of services, products, brands, trade clusters, channels, and key accounts. 
  • Develops and implements product strategies and plans in line with the Sales and Marketing strategy and trade policy to meet market, brand, and volume objectives.
  • Other scopes are inclusive of management of trade research, channel development, backend support to the Sales and Marketing management team, and ensuring effective resources, infrastructures, processes, and systems of Product, Sales, and Marketing are ready for current and future business needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Develops and monitors the Product Development Plan, Demand Plan, and Cycle Plan to meet the company, brand, and volume objectives and reflects the needs and priorities of the individual Customer clusters, channels, and key Accounts.
  • Champions the implementation of the company's Operational and Strategic Management Frameworks to deliver flawless management of planning and execution of programs and activities to deliver the company plan targets. Drives the development and improvement of monthly company dashboard reports and prepares quarterly business review decks for senior management review.
  • Collates and analyses data from available systems, sales & services team, marketing and financial reports, research, trade audits and customer, account performance to identify markets, services, products, channels, customer clusters weaknesses and opportunities and account priorities; and evaluates their performances to provide recommendations and solutions to deliver company objectives.
  • Maintains spreadsheets (database and project plans), prepares guidelines and decks to make sure all information is well recorded and up to date; and provides regular Products, Sales and Marketing information and reports on market trends, competitor strategy and performance analysis, the level of achievement of own Product, Sales and Marketing strategy and plans to ensure all relevant management teams are fully informed at all times.
  • Develops, monitors, and evaluates both customer and consumer promotions for the priority customer channels, clusters, and key accounts on time and within budget to maximize the return on investment and ensure adequate levels of customer and consumer participation. Provides analysis of campaign performance reports at the end of the campaign, with results, key outcomes, and learnings
  • Assists Sales and Services managers in the development of key customer partners through the formulation and implementation of sales and account strategies and plans to maximize growth and share performance.
  • Keeps Sales and Services managers fully informed at all times of new channel and account developments, trends, and competitor activity in order that opportunities and weaknesses are addressed through effective planning and execution of in-market activities.
  • Manages and controls Product Development budgets efficiently and economically to ensure that effective customer and channel programs are developed and implemented in line with company brand, volume, and profit objectives.
  • Motivates, trains, and develops people in the department to the highest levels to ensure that the products, brands, customer clusters, channels, and accounts objectives are achieved through the application of highly professional approaches.
  • Cooperates with the HR-Learning & Development team in managing the Skill Development Centre to continuously elevate skillset and build people capacity to meet current and future business challenges and objectives.
Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, preferably in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
  • The equivalent of the same in practical experience is also acceptable.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience, with 5 years in management roles.

MS Office and Software

  • Possess good computer skills, being proficient in Digital Social Apps, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint, which will all be necessary for the effective performance of the creation of reports, proposals, and recommendations.
