To lead the sample room team in producing high-quality jacket and trouser samples that meet M&S technical standards, fit requirements, and delivery timelines. Ensure smooth coordination between merchandising, technical, pattern, sewing teams, and M&S QA/Technologists.

Sample Production Management

• Supervise daily operations of the sample room (cutting, sewing, finishing).
• Allocate work to sample tailors based on skill and workload.
• Ensure all proto, fit, sealed, SMS, PP samples are produced on time.
• Monitor quality at each step to ensure samples meet M&S workmanship standards.
• Conduct daily status meetings and update progress charts.

Technical & Quality Control

• Review tech packs, construction details, BOM, and sewing instructions from M&S.
• Work with pattern makers to ensure correct patterns for jackets & trousers.
• Identify technical issues (construction, measurements, balance, fusing, interlining).
• Perform in-process checks and final inspections before submitting to buyer/M&S technologist.
• Ensure samples comply with M&S GRS, FIT, Testing, Safety, and Quality Standards.

Coordination & Communication

• Communicate closely with Merchandising on sample deadlines and approvals.
• Coordinate with Pattern, CAD, Cutting, Sewing and Iron teams for smooth workflow.
• Discuss technical comments with M&S QA/Technologists and implement corrections.
• Provide clear guidance to sewing operators regarding construction requirements.

Team Management

• Supervise sample tailors, cutters, and helpers.
• Train team on jacket and trouser construction—lapels, canvas, waistband, pockets, hemming.
• Evaluate performance and ensure discipline, teamwork, and productivity.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure machinery and sample room environment meet M&S ethical compliance standards.
• Maintain safety, orderliness, and proper documentation in the sample room.

• Diploma or certificate in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, or related field. 
• Minimum 3–5 years sample room experience (jackets & trousers).
• Prior experience working with M&S or UK buyers preferred.
• Khmer/English
