The Lead Auditor for Supply Chain Assessment Solutions can conduct audits either alone or as part of a team. Audits are conducted against the Scheme or client requirements for which they have been qualified and approved. In addition to audits, they may undertake a desktop review of self-assessment questionnaires and review correction action plans and evidence remotely. Where no conflict of interest exists, they may also provide training services for either public or in-house training.
Where a lead auditor status is achieved, the lead auditor organizes, directs, and supervises team members through the pre-audit, on-site activity, and reporting after the audit.
- Act as sole or lead auditor on selected schemes.
- Ensure effective delivery of audits in line with RBS Global Procedures and any Scheme requirements or client SOPs.
- Meet agreed turnaround times for reporting and other deliverables.
- Present a professional image in all dealings with clients and auditees.
- Promote the company approach and services at seminars and through presentations and articles.
- Provide technical input to back office and sales teams as required.
- Technical review of reports from other auditors.
- Active development of relationships through existing networks and contacts. Remain up-to-date with current thinking and client expectations in this field; establish and maintain a network of stakeholders, including NGOs, industry bodies, and related contacts; attend public and client-led conferences; read news related to their topic of interest
- Ensure full compliance with the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct and Impartiality Policy and encourage others to do so.
- Cooperate fully with any investigations in relation to Quality issues or Integrity where required.
- At all times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for their own health and safety and that of colleagues and clients, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
For Lead Auditors:
- Witness other auditors for the effectiveness of auditing to ensure that competence is maintained.
- Lead and organize the audit team before, during, and after the audit for the related job
- Mentor auditors and provide “on-the-job” training
- Educated to degree-level
- completed recognized auditor training
- Recognized approval as a second-party auditor, or training to achieve such sign-off
- Minimum two years of experience in supply chain activities
- Experience of team management/leadership (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced level of English
- Ability to work under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads
- Experience in project management (desirable)
