The Chinese Translator (Night Shift, 7pm – 7am) will provide real-time language interpretation and translation support for Mandarin-speaking patients and their families at Orchid Koh Pich Hospital. Additionally, the role will involve on-call over-the-phone translation support for Orchid Sen Sok, ensuring seamless communication between medical staff, frontline staff, and patients during night hours.

• Provide accurate verbal and written translation between Mandarin and Khmer (minimal English is a plus) for patients, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff.
• Offer over-the-phone translation support to Orchid Sen Sok when required.
• Assist in explaining medical procedures, diagnoses, treatment plans, and administrative processes to Mandarin-speaking patients.
• Translate medical documents, prescriptions, and hospital forms as needed.
• Facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring clarity and patient satisfaction.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling patient information.
• Support emergency cases where immediate translation is required.
• Assist front desk and customer service teams in handling Mandarin-speaking patients’ inquiries during night shifts.
• Coordinate with day-shift translators for smooth handover of pending cases.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

• Fluent in Mandarin and Khmer. English is a plus.
• Prior experience as a medical translator/interpreter is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with a professional and patient-centric approach.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations with calmness and efficiency.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge is preferred (training will be provided).
• Willingness to work night shifts, 7pm – 7am (including weekends and holidays, as required).
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities for Orchid Sen Sok’s night shift translation needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with medical teams, frontline team, and patients.
• Familiarity with hospital operations and procedures is an advantage.
