Job Summary
- To ensure a high standard of Technical and Quality Services for Chemical Testing in Laboratory to exceed customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties
- To manage the Chemical Testing Laboratory at a high standard of Technical and Quality Services to our customers.
- To supervise and support senior chemist to ensure the laboratory provides a high standard of Technical, Quality and on time delivery services.
- To manage and implement responsible testing laboratory to comply with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard requirements on day to day basis.
- To acquire and expand the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation scope and other government approval and Client’s Approval as applicable.
- To manage the development of new tests or improvement of the existing tests
- To ensure that In-house / modified method shall be validated and the customer given methods are verified before use
- To plan and manage training need and training plan ensuring that training shall be provided to chemists/technicians that they are competent prior to authorizing them to perform testing / calibration work independently
- To co-ordinate with OI Section Head / Quality Assurance Executive on the Proficiency Testing Program
- To Co-ordinate and consult with Chemical Testing Technical Manager
- To seek and obtain technical information from external sources, e.g. SGS Affiliates, TISI and Government Agencies.
- To propose for new/replacement of lab equipment with technical information and justifications
- To provide customer support in a Technical capacity as and when required.
- To provide technical and support for chemical testing at a high standard of services to our customer
- To ensure lab and its staffs comply with QHSE policies
- Implementation, maintenance and improvement of the management system and to identify the occurrence of departures from the management system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, and to initiate actions to prevent or minimize such departures
- To manage the ZDHC program testing and understood the ZDHC sampling and analysis plan
- At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
- Comply with the laboratory quality policy and quality management system.
- Technical services & Laboratory Manager is deputy when above position is absent
- Senior Chemist is deputy when above position is absence regards to technical in Chemical Lab
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor Degree (Related Field) or equivalent
- 3 years in Analytical laboratory experience
- Good command in English and computer
- Quality system.
- Managerial and leadership skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical training.
