Job Summary

Main Mission:

  • To lead and oversee the company’s financial accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial statements, compliance with CIFRS and local tax regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as requested by CFO.

Specific context of the position:

  • The Chief Accountant manages the accounting team, supervises daily operations, reviews financial data, and ensures timely reporting. The role closely coordinates with auditors, tax agencies, and other departments to maintain compliance and transparency.
  • The Chef Accountant report to the Chief Financial Officer, oversees the accounting department and developing management report

Scope of the position:

  • Manages all accounting functions and reporting.
  • Leads audits and tax compliance.
  • Supports strategic projects and cost control.
Responsibilities and Duties

MAIN TASKS / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounting and Reporting:
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closings, and prepare financial statements
  • Ensure correct posting and classification of transactions
  • Monitor general ledger, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Data Integrity and Compliance:
  • Ensure financial reports meet CIFRS and tax requirements
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors
  • Team management:
  • Guide and train the accounting team
  • Monitor team performance and workload
  • System and Process Improvement:
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Support system upgrades and process reviews

MAIN AREAS OF JOB PERFORMANCE:

  • Management of accounting task.
  • Daily management of accounting budget and general accounting.
  • Perform accounting revisions (monthly verification of the good account holding).
  • Define the applied accounting plan, follow its implementation. 
  • Ensure the application of the accounting process, procedures and accounting standards are in force.
  • Inform, advise managers in their strategic decisions.
  • Organize work, distribute and delegate tasks.
  • Management and control of accounting entries.
  • Prepare and maintain cash flow analyses as needed.
  • Provide comments on the monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in reconciling all balance sheet and income statements account on monthly basis or as needed.
  • Audit preparation and coordination

  • Continuous process improvement.
Qualifications and Skills

Training and Experiences Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Technical Knowledge: 

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Solid understanding of CIFRS and Cambodian tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with expense management tools and processes.

Personal and Management Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various departments.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Professional English communication
