Senior Project Engineer is responsible for collaborating with Technical Team and stakeholders to develop project plans, technical oversight, quality control, material selection and procurement, design coordination, construction management, risk management, maintaining accurate records of project documentation.
Project planning
- Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets that meet technical requirements and objectives.
Technical oversight
- Providing technical expertise and guidance throughout all phases of construction projects, from initial design and planning through to completion and handover.
Quality control
- Implementing quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, and addressing any issues or deviations that arise.
Material selection and procurement
- Researching, selecting, and procuring construction materials, equipment, and systems that meet project requirements, specifications, and budget constraints.
Design coordination
- Coordinating with architects, engineers, and design teams to review project plans, specifications, and drawings, and ensuring that technical requirements are integrated into the design process.
Construction management
- Overseeing construction activities, including site inspections, progress monitoring, and coordination of subcontractors, to ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
Risk management
- Identifying potential risks and hazards associated with construction projects, developing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing safety measures to protect workers, property, and the environment.
Technical support
- Providing technical support and assistance to project teams, subcontractors, and field staff to resolve technical issues, interpret drawings and specifications, and address construction challenges as they arise.
Regulatory compliance
- Ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements relevant to construction projects, and obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
Documentation and reporting
- Maintaining accurate records of project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, change orders, and inspection reports, and preparing regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
Training and development
- Providing training and professional development opportunities for construction staff to enhance their technical skills, knowledge, and capabilities, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
Client relations
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders by effectively communicating technical information, addressing concerns, and delivering high-quality construction outcomes.
Education
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field is typically required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master's degree or professional certifications in construction management or engineering
Knowledge
- Strong knowledge and understanding in construction

- Leadership abilities, including the ability to lead and motivate project teams, delegate tasks, and make decisions under pressure, are important for successfully managing construction projects and achieving project objectives.
