Responsibilities and Duties
- Advise senior executives and internal management on the identification, assessment, mitigation, and management of key risks that may impact on the Bank’s strategic objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Bank’s risk management framework, policies, procedures, and risk appetite statements.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and report on enterprise-wide risks, including strategic, operational, financial, reputational, and emerging risks.
- Analyze complex risk issues and prepare high-quality reports, reviews, recommendations, and presentations to support senior management decision-making.
- Lead the preparation and execution of the annual risk management plan, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s objectives, priorities, and strategic planning process.
- Maintain and update the Bank’s risk register, ensuring risks are properly documented, assessed, assigned, and regularly reviewed.
- Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and mitigation actions and provide recommendations for improvement where required.
- Keep up to date with developments in risk management practices and recommend enhancements to the Bank’s risk framework and methodologies.
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Risk Management function to ensure effective delivery of risk
- services across the Bank.
- Identify, minimize, and manage challenges and risks that could affect business performance, continuity, or strategic delivery.
- Present risk reports, findings, and key deliverables to senior management, committees, and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development of a strong risk culture across the Bank through awareness, guidance, and collaboration with business units.
- Assess the impact of changes in the internal and external operating environment on the Bank’s risk profile and recommend appropriate responses.
- Ensure that risk management activities are integrated with business planning, performance management, and decision-making processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in risk management, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or any other relevant field.
- Professional certification such as FRM, PRM, CFA, CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, enterprise risk, operational risk, internal control, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, internal controls, and governance practices.
