Responsibilities and Duties

Design, implement, and maintain complex server infrastructure (primarily Linux).
Manage and optimize virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all systems.
Develop and implement automation scripts for system deployment, configuration, and management (e.g., Python, Bash).
Manage and maintain core infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, user authentication systems).
Oversee data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
Monitor system health, performance, and security, responding to incidents and alerts.
Collaborate with network engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems and network infrastructure.
Implement and maintain security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability assessment, and access control.
Provide advanced technical support and guidance to IT support teams and other departments..
Document system configurations, procedures, and architectural diagrams.
Lead or participate in IT projects, from planning to implementation and post-deployment support.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to improve IT infrastructure and services.

Qualifications and Skills

3+ years of experience in system engineering, system Adm Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls).
Experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery strategies.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and mentor junior staff.
