Responsibilities and Duties
- Define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
- Prepare project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
- Allocate resources and manpower effectively.
- Lead and supervise the project team.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Motivate and guide staff to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure all project activities are carried out according to design, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Monitor project expenses and control costs.
- Review and approve project expenditures and variations.
- Track project progress against the schedule.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent delays.
- Ensure work quality meets standards and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Identify potential project risks and issues.
- Develop strategies to minimize risks and solve problems.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and clients.
- Prepare progress reports, meetings, and documentation.
- Ensure safety regulations are followed on site.
- Promote safe working practices for all staff.
- Ensure testing, commissioning, and final inspections are completed.
- Deliver the project and documentation to the client.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Usually 5–10 years of experience in project management or related field.
- Experience managing construction, engineering, or MEP projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and contract management.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, construction methods, and technical specifications.
- Leadership and team management skills
